Gourmet Meat
Recreation Africa Safaris t/a Carnivore Gourmet Meat, started in February 2008, and is situated in Boekenhoutfontein, between Boshoek and Phokeng.
We aim to have Game meat on the table of every South African household, at least once a week. We take pride in the contribution we make to promote sustainable game farming and conservation. We believe in optimising and promoting the use of our natural resources, and believe that the time is right to further promote game meat to the discerning public in an effort to meet the needs of the ever-increasing health conscious and ecologically-aware consumer market.
Although we have only recently opened the business, we have more than 17 years of experience with Game meats, through the Carnivore Restaurant in Johannesburg, hunting safaris and game culling operations. As part of the Recreation Africa Group of companies, we have a wealth of leadership and entrepreneurial skills.
We are in the process of expanding our business, and have started with the second Carnivore Gourmet Meat Butchery, based in Broederstroom, near Hartebeespoort dam, which we are planning to open in 2011. This new development will also include liquor stores, bakeries and restaurants to compliment our meat products.
The Recreation Africa Group prides itself on the development of hotels, restaurants and butcheries, with a truly African ambiance, which is in keeping with the company ethos of “Life responds to seed not need”.
